Tree on the left of the picture.
The Nordman fir is a full looking christmas tree with dark green needles. It may not be as scented as other varieties but it will hold its needles very well. This long lasting variety looks very good with small and medium-sized decorations.
FAQs On Real Christmas Trees
A fresh Christmas tree can last beautifully throughout December with just a little care.
• Cut 1–2cm off the base before placing it in the stand — this opens the pores so the tree can drink. We can do this for you in store.
• Use a water-holding stand and fill it immediately. A real tree can drink up to a litre of water per day.
• Top up the water daily to keep the trunk submerged. If the base dries out, it seals over and the tree can no longer absorb water.
• Keep the tree away from heat sources, such as radiators, stoves, open fires and direct sun — warm rooms dry trees faster.
• Use LED lights, which give off less heat and help keep the tree greener for longer.
Follow these simple steps and your tree will stay fresh, fragrant and full of needles right through Christmas.
