A dense, bushy, evergreen shrub or small tree. It has a glossy, dark-green, slender leaves and the red stems are attractive against the green foliage. Small, white scented flowers appear in early summer and are followed by small dark red-purple fruit. It makes a compact, formal, and attractive hedge.
Height/Spread: 12mx8m after 20-50 years in left unpruned. Suitable for a hedge height of 1m to 5m.
Position: Full sun to partial shade
Soil: Moist but well-drained
