'Brown Turkey' is a reliable variety to grow which makes it an ideal choice for the irish climate. The tree itself is deciduous and bears fruit once a year (sometimes twice if the summer is particularly long and hot, or if grown under protection).

Soil: Moist but well-drained, well-drained
