Chinese Peony (Paeonia Lactiflora Longlife Mix)
Chinese Peony selections of Paeonia lactiflora are long-lived, clump-forming herbaceous perennials valued for their large, showy blooms in early summer and handsome divided foliage. In Irish gardens they perform best in fertile, moist but well-drained soil with plenty of sun, though they will tolerate light shade. Once established they resent disturbance, so choose a permanent spot in a sunny border or mixed planting. Expect a sturdy, upright, bushy clump around 60–90cm tall and wide, with blooms ideal for cutting and adding classic elegance to cottage-style borders.
To help give a clear sense of scale, the stone wall shown in our photos measures approximately 265cm in height. We also use familiar garden tools as visual references: a digging fork (110cm tall) and a hand fork (30cm tall). These are included purely as size guides to help you better judge proportions when viewing the images.
