How to grow

Sowing indoors: Sow in a tray of moist seed compost in gentle warmth, 10-15°C. Lightly cover the seeds with a little more compost.

Transplanting: Transplant individually to 8cm pots of compost when seedlings are large enough to handle.

Hardening off/planting out: Gradually accustom to cooler conditions before planting out from April onwards. Plants produced from August to October sowings should be planted out in late autumn. Allow 30cm between plants. Aftercare - When seedlings are large enough to handle, thin out to avoid overcrowding and disease.

Advice: New plants may emerge as self-sown seedlings which can be transplanted in other areas of the garden.
