ACER CONSPICUUM RED FLAMINGO 1/2 Standard 10ltr Pot
Acer conspicuum 'Red Flamingo' is a snakebark maple valued for its striking white-striped, reddish young bark and brightly coloured new shoots. The foliage emerges mottled pink and green, maturing to variegated dark green marbled with white, creating strong seasonal interest. In spring it produces small, inconspicuous yellow‑green flowers followed by winged seed pods (samaras). Best grown in a sheltered position with light shade to protect the variegated leaves from scorch, in fertile, moist but well‑drained, acid to neutral soil. A refined choice for small gardens and courtyards, forming a small tree or large shrub around 4m high and wide over time.
This is a standard tree with a clear stem and a shaped crown above. The tree was grown up to this stem height and then pruned to stop the trunk growing taller. The clear stem will remain at the height you receive it at, with future growth coming from the top of the tree.
To help give a clear sense of scale, the stone wall shown in our photos measures approximately 265cm in height. We also use familiar garden tools as visual references: a digging fork (110cm tall) and a hand fork (30cm tall). These are included purely as size guides to help you better judge proportions when viewing the images.
