Cercis can. Forest Pansy
Cercis canadensis ‘Forest Pansy’ is a small, deciduous tree prized for its dramatic, heart-shaped foliage and spring blossom. Young leaves emerge a rich purple, mature to a bronzy green through summer, and take on warm orange-yellow tints in autumn. In April–May, clusters of small, rosy-pink pea-flowers open on bare branches for early-season colour. An excellent specimen for Irish gardens, it thrives in full sun or light shade with shelter from cold winds, and in fertile, moist but well-drained soil; ideal as a focal point in borders or lightly wooded settings.
To help give a clear sense of scale, the stone wall shown in our photos measures approximately 265cm in height. We also use familiar garden tools as visual references: a digging fork (110cm tall) and a hand fork (30cm tall). These are included purely as size guides to help you better judge proportions when viewing the images.
