Lavandula ang. Munstead
A compact, bushy lavender forming neat evergreen mounds to around 45cm tall and 60cm wide, with narrow, highly aromatic grey-green foliage and dense spikes of lavender-blue flowers from early to late summer. Best in full sun and freely draining soil that is low to moderately fertile, on the light side (sandy or chalky); avoid heavy, wet ground. Excellent for edging paths, low hedging, containers and sunny borders, and well-suited to coastal locations. Flowers and foliage are superb for cutting and drying, and the blooms are magnetically attractive to bees and other pollinators. Lightly trim after flowering, taking care not to cut into old woody stems.
To help give a clear sense of scale, the stone wall shown in our photos measures approximately 265cm in height. We also use familiar garden tools as visual references: a digging fork (110cm tall) and a hand fork (30cm tall). These are included purely as size guides to help you better judge proportions when viewing the images.
