Helleborus ‘Strawberry Moon’ is a reliable, semi-evergreen Lenten rose bringing welcome flowers from late winter into spring for shaded borders. Ideal for woodland edges, underplanting shrubs and containers, it forms a neat clump around 30–60cm with handsome foliage. Plant in fertile, humus-rich, moisture-retentive but well-drained soil; it prefers neutral to alkaline conditions (including chalk) and, once established, copes with dry shade. Early-season blooms offer valuable nectar for pollinators, extending garden interest well before most perennials awaken.
