Phalaenopsis, commonly known as moth orchids, are exquisite and popular orchid species that thrive in the Irish climate. They are sought after for their stunning flowers and adaptability to indoor environments.

Height/Spread: Phalaenopsis orchids typically have a height of 1-3 feet (30-90 centimeters) and a spread of 1-2 feet (30-60 centimeters). These dimensions make them suitable for indoor cultivation in the Irish climate.

Position: Phalaenopsis orchids prefer bright, indirect light. In the Irish climate, placing them near a north or east-facing window is ideal, as it provides them with sufficient light without exposing them to direct sunlight, which can scorch their delicate foliage.

Soil: Phalaenopsis orchids are epiphytic plants that do not grow in soil. Instead, they are typically grown in a well-draining orchid mix or bark-based medium. This allows for proper air circulation around their roots, preventing root rot in the Irish climate.
