Fritillaria imperalis Aurora
Fritillaria imperalis Aurora is a striking crown imperial, a bulbous perennial bearing a ring of vivid orange, pendant bell-flowers in spring, topped by a distinctive tuft of leaves on stout, upright stems. Grow in full sun and fertile, well-drained soil; plant the bulbs deeply and choose a sheltered position to protect the tall stems. Deciduous with fresh green foliage, it makes an architectural focal point for mixed borders, typically flowering from April to May in Irish gardens.
To help give a clear sense of scale, the stone wall shown in our photos measures approximately 265cm in height. We also use familiar garden tools as visual references: a digging fork (110cm tall) and a hand fork (30cm tall). These are included purely as size guides to help you better judge proportions when viewing the images.
