Erysimum Bowles Mauve
Erysimum 'Bowles’s Mauve' is a much-loved, evergreen wallflower with long, branched spikes of mauve-purple flowers from late spring through summer, often with intermittent blooms into autumn in mild areas. Compact and bushy, it typically reaches around 60–75cm high and 45–60cm wide, making an excellent choice for sunny borders and containers. Best in well-drained, moderately fertile soil (neutral to alkaline), it thrives in full sun but copes with light shade, and is valued for its reliability and months of colour. A superb plant for wildlife-friendly gardens, it provides nectar for pollinators while bringing steady colour to mixed plantings; avoid waterlogged conditions and deadhead to encourage continued flowering.
