EPIMEDIUM Amber Queen

Epimedium ‘Amber Queen’ is a clump-forming shade perennial valued for its spring display of spurred, amber-yellow flowers held above attractive foliage. Ideal for underplanting trees and shrubs or brightening dry shade, it prefers partial to full shade and a moist, humus-rich, well-drained soil; once established it copes well with drier conditions in shade. Fully hardy and slow to establish into a graceful groundcover, it typically reaches around 30–60cm over time. For best flowering, cut back any tired old leaves in late winter before the new growth and flower stems emerge in spring.

To help give a clear sense of scale, the stone wall shown in our photos measures approximately 265cm in height. We also use familiar garden tools as visual references: a digging fork (110cm tall) and a hand fork (30cm tall). These are included purely as size guides to help you better judge proportions when viewing the images.
