African Lily Agapanthus Umbellatus Blue (10Ltr Pot)
A classic evergreen African lily admired for bold, rounded umbels of clear blue, trumpet-shaped flowers held above clumps of strap-like green leaves in mid to late summer. Best grown in full sun and a fertile, moist but well-drained soil; superb in containers or a sunny border where the foliage provides structure and the blooms add strong seasonal colour. In colder parts of Ireland, give winter protection (mulch the crown or move containers to a sheltered, frost-free spot). Deadhead spent stems after flowering; divide congested clumps in spring. Moderate growth, typically reaching 60–90cm in flower with a spread of 30–60cm.
To help give a clear sense of scale, the stone wall shown in our photos measures approximately 265cm in height. We also use familiar garden tools as visual references: a digging fork (110cm tall) and a hand fork (30cm tall). These are included purely as size guides to help you better judge proportions when viewing the images.
