Camellia jap. Bonomiana
Camellia japonica ‘Bonomiana’ is a refined evergreen shrub valued for its glossy, dark green foliage and showy spring blooms in soft pink often striped or flecked with white. Best grown in partial shade with shelter from cold, drying winds and early morning sun, it prefers acid, humus-rich, moist but well‑drained soil. A graceful choice for woodland borders or as a specimen, and can be lightly trimmed after flowering to maintain shape. Eventual size typically within 2–5m over time; growth is slow to moderate.
