PRUNUS S. SHIROFUGEN
Prunus 'Shirofugen' is a classic late-flowering Japanese cherry, bearing abundant, double blossoms that open white in late spring and gradually deepen to soft pink before they fall. Awarded the RHS Award of Garden Merit, it develops a broad, spreading crown that makes an excellent specimen for lawns or avenues, ultimately reaching around 8–12m tall and wide. Best grown in full sun in moist but well-drained, moderately fertile soil.
To help give a clear sense of scale, the stone wall shown in our photos measures approximately 265cm in height. We also use familiar garden tools as visual references: a digging fork (110cm tall) and a hand fork (30cm tall). These are included purely as size guides to help you better judge proportions when viewing the images.
