PRUNUS S. SHIMIDSU (MIYAKO)
Prunus Sato-zakura Group 'Shimizu' (Miyako) is a Japanese flowering cherry grown for its abundant, showy spring blossom on a compact, deciduous framework. With fresh green foliage through the growing season, it makes a graceful specimen for lawns, courtyards, and smaller gardens. For best results, plant in full sun in moderately fertile, well-drained soil; prune lightly after flowering only to maintain shape and remove any damaged or crossing branches. Fully hardy in typical UK conditions.
To help give a clear sense of scale, the stone wall shown in our photos measures approximately 265cm in height. We also use familiar garden tools as visual references: a digging fork (110cm tall) and a hand fork (30cm tall). These are included purely as size guides to help you better judge proportions when viewing the images.
