Cyathea Highland Lace

Cyathea 'Highland Lace' is a tree fern valued for its finely divided, architectural fronds that lend instant structure and a lush, tropical feel. For Irish gardens it is best grown in light or dappled shade in a sheltered, humid spot with moist, humus‑rich, well‑drained soil. Keep the trunk and crown evenly moist in the growing season and protect the crown from cold; in colder areas, move to a bright, frost‑free space or provide substantial winter protection. Superb as a focal point in shaded borders and courtyards, or as a dramatic container specimen in a conservatory, it brings strong architectural presence where space allows.

To help give a clear sense of scale, the stone wall shown in our photos measures approximately 265cm in height. We also use familiar garden tools as visual references: a digging fork (110cm tall) and a hand fork (30cm tall). These are included purely as size guides to help you better judge proportions when viewing the images.
