Camellia jap. Nuccios Cameo
Camellia japonica ‘Nuccio’s Cameo’ is an elegant, evergreen shrub with glossy, dark green leaves and perfectly formal double flowers in soft pink, appearing in early to mid‑spring (typically March to April). For best results in Irish gardens, site it in light shade with shelter from cold winds and early morning sun, in ericaceous (acid), humus‑rich, moisture‑retentive but well‑drained soil; avoid chalk or lime. Excellent for lightly shaded borders or large containers filled with ericaceous compost, and benefit from spring mulches to conserve moisture and maintain soil acidity.
To help give a clear sense of scale, the stone wall shown in our photos measures approximately 265cm in height. We also use familiar garden tools as visual references: a digging fork (110cm tall) and a hand fork (30cm tall). These are included purely as size guides to help you better judge proportions when viewing the images.
