Camellia jap. Dr. King
Camellia japonica ‘Dr. King’ is an elegant, evergreen camellia with glossy green foliage and showy blooms in late winter to spring. Best in partial shade with shelter from cold, drying winds and early morning sun, it thrives in acid, humus-rich, moist but well-drained soil. A moderate grower that eventually forms a substantial shrub (commonly within 2–5 m), it’s ideal as a focal specimen, for woodland-style planting, or as a sheltered hedge or screen. Prune lightly after flowering to maintain shape and remove dead or damaged growth.
