Melton pastels are seed-raised perennials with pincushion-like flower heads on tall wiry stems. Flowers are in a range of shades of red, mauve, pink and salmon from early summer to autumn. Every shoot and side-shoot terminates in a flower. Excellent back of border plant producing masses of flowers in two flushes. Spent blooms need to be cut down for second flush of flowers. Also suitable as cut flowers.
Plant in full sun and well drained soil.
Height/Spread: 1m to 1.5m x 0.1m to 0.5m after 2 to 5 years.
