Pyracantha Red Column

Pyracantha 'Red Column' is a robust, upright, evergreen wall shrub prized for its profuse clusters of small white spring flowers, followed by heavy crops of vivid red berries that are excellent for wildlife. Ideal for training flat against walls, fences or trellis to provide year-round structure and seasonal interest. This climber requires a suitable support to establish and grow. Thorny stems make it useful where a secure, space-saving vertical feature is desired. In sun or light shade and in any fertile, well-drained soil, it establishes reliably and, over time, can reach about 4m in height and around 3m in spread when trained.

This climbing plant has been trained onto a supporting frame to create a neat, well-shaped specimen that is ready for planting. As it grows, new shoots can be guided and secured to continue developing its natural shape.

To help give a clear sense of scale, the stone wall shown in our photos measures approximately 265cm in height. We also use familiar garden tools as visual references: a digging fork (110cm tall) and a hand fork (30cm tall). These are included purely as size guides to help you better judge proportions when viewing the images.
