Rhododendron carolinianum Dora Amateis
A compact, slow-growing evergreen rhododendron, Rhododendron carolinianum ‘Dora Amateis’ forms a dense mound of small, dark green leaves and produces abundant clusters of white, funnel-shaped blooms in mid to late spring. Best in light, dappled shade and sheltered from cold winds, it thrives in moist but well-drained, humus-rich acid (ericaceous) soil. Ideal for smaller gardens, woodland edges and containers of ericaceous compost, reaching around 1m over time with a broader spread.
