MALUS GORGEOUS
Malus 'Gorgeous' is a small, deciduous crab apple forming a neat, rounded crown. Shiny dark-green leaves are followed in spring by masses of blossom: pink-tinged buds opening to white flowers. These are typically followed by numerous small, crimson-red fruits in early autumn. Grow in full sun for the best display (it will tolerate light shade) and plant in moist but well-drained, moderately fertile soil. Fully hardy in Ireland, and valuable for wildlife, with spring flowers attracting pollinators and the fruits providing seasonal interest.
To help give a clear sense of scale, the stone wall shown in our photos measures approximately 265cm in height. We also use familiar garden tools as visual references: a digging fork (110cm tall) and a hand fork (30cm tall). These are included purely as size guides to help you better judge proportions when viewing the images.
