Hebe 'Lady Ann' is a charming evergreen shrub with an abundance of colorful foliage and delightful flowers. Its compact and bushy growth habit makes it an ideal choice for small gardens, containers, or as a low hedge.

Height/Spread: 'Lady Ann' typically grows to a height of 60-80 cm (24-31 inches) with a spread of 60-90 cm (24-35 inches). Its neat and tidy form makes it a great option for confined spaces or for adding structure to borders.

Position: This Hebe variety thrives in a position that receives full to partial sunlight. It appreciates well-ventilated locations that allow good air circulation, reducing the risk of disease. In the Irish climate, it can benefit from some shelter, especially in exposed or coastal areas.

Soil: 'Lady Ann' prefers well-draining, fertile soil with a slightly acidic to neutral pH. It can tolerate various soil types, including sandy or loamy soils. Ensuring proper drainage is essential to prevent waterlogged conditions.

Flowering Season: The shrub produces beautiful lilac-purple flowers in dense, spike-like clusters during the summer months, typically from late spring to early autumn. These blooms are not only visually appealing but also attract pollinators, benefiting the overall garden ecosystem.

Uses: 'Lady Ann' serves multiple purposes in the garden. Its year-round attractive foliage makes it an excellent choice for ornamental planting. It can be used as a low hedge to edge pathways or garden beds. Additionally, it works well as a container plant, adding color and texture to patios or balconies.

Specify in the Irish climate: Hebe 'Lady Ann' is well-suited to the Irish climate, thriving in the temperate conditions with mild summers and relatively cool winters. It can withstand occasional frosts but may require some protection during severe cold spells. In Irish gardens, 'Lady Ann' can be grown with success, providing a burst of color and interest throughout the growing season. Regular pruning after flowering helps maintain its compact shape and encourages healthy growth.
