Gypsophila cerastioides
Gypsophila cerastioides (mouse-ear gypsophila) is a mat-forming, semi-evergreen perennial for sunny, well-drained sites, forming low cushions and carrying white flowers delicately veined pink from late spring into summer. Ideal for gravel and rock gardens, the front of borders, containers, banks and slopes; in Irish gardens it does best in full sun with well-drained or moist but well-drained, moderately fertile soil and protection from winter waterlogging. Eventual size around 10cm tall and up to 50cm spread.
To help give a clear sense of scale, the stone wall shown in our photos measures approximately 265cm in height. We also use familiar garden tools as visual references: a digging fork (110cm tall) and a hand fork (30cm tall). These are included purely as size guides to help you better judge proportions when viewing the images.
