Spirea Gold Flame
A compact, deciduous spirea valued for its colourful foliage and summer flowers. Young leaves emerge bronze-red before turning rich golden-yellow through summer and taking on coppery tints in autumn, while flat clusters of small pink flowers appear in early to midsummer. Best leaf colour and flowering occur in full sun, on moist but well-drained, moderately fertile soil. Ideal for mixed borders, edging and low informal hedges; lightly trim after flowering to maintain shape and encourage fresh growth.
