PITTOSPORUM tenui. Tom Thumb
A compact, slow-growing evergreen noted for its neat, rounded habit and striking small leaves that mature to deep purple-black, giving year-round structure and contrast. In late spring to early summer it produces small, dark purple, sweetly scented flowers, often most noticeable in the evening. Best in full sun to light shade in a sheltered spot with moist but well-drained, moderately fertile soil. Ideal for adding architectural foliage to borders, low hedging or containers, and tolerant of coastal conditions.
