How to grow

Sowing indoors: Sow on the surface of pre-watered seed compost, in pots or trays, lightly pressing into the surface. Place in a propagator or bag at around 20°C and allow 2-4 weeks for germination. Remove lid or bag and keep in cooler conditions after germination.

Growing on: Transplant when seedlings are large enough to handle. Grow on in a sheltered spot outdoors, such as a cold frame or unheated greenhouse.

Planting out: Plant out in full sun in well-drained soil. Also suitable for containers, raised beds or rockeries. Aftercare - Remove faded flowers during summer to prolong blooming. Remove any dead foliage in spring. Add grit to improve drainage where necessary.

Advice: Late summer sowings will flower earlier and more profusely the following year.
