In spring it bears short racemes of small, white, urn-shaped flowers. For reliable performance in Ireland, plant in partial shade to shade in moist but well-drained, humus-rich, lime-free (ericaceous) soil; ideal for shaded borders and containers filled with ericaceous compost, and best kept evenly moist while avoiding alkaline conditions.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp style=\"margin-top:32px;margin-bottom:8px;\"\u003e\u003cstrong\u003e To help give a clear sense of scale, the stone wall shown in our photos measures approximately 265cm in height.
