It carries warm yellow blooms from spring into early summer above neat, narrow evergreen foliage, and is best in a sheltered, well-drained spot. Suited to lighter, chalky or moderately fertile soils, it copes with dry sun once established; avoid heavy or waterlogged ground. Deadhead spent flowers to encourage further display and refresh plants every few years if they become woody.
