Best in partial shade and a sheltered spot, it prefers moist but well-drained, fertile, slightly acidic to neutral soil. Slow growing, it forms a graceful, cascading crown that makes an elegant focal point in courtyards, containers, and Japanese-style plantings, ultimately reaching a modest small-tree size.\u003c\/p\u003e\n  \u003cp\u003e\n  \u003cstrong\u003eThis is a standard tree with a clear stem and a shaped crown above.\u003c\/strong\u003e\n  The tree was grown up to this stem height and then pruned to stop the trunk growing taller.
