Highly scented and excellent for edging paths, low informal hedges and containers, it thrives in full sun and free-draining soil, making it ideal for gravel and Mediterranean-style plantings in Ireland. Loved by bees and other pollinators, it performs best on light, sandy or chalky soils of moderate fertility; avoid heavy or waterlogged ground, particularly in winter. Once established it is drought-tolerant.
